YOU DO NOT HAVE TO FEAR…HE IS YOUR SHELTER, REFUGE + FORTRESS || IN MY NOTES #13

Hey friend, happy Monday! Let’s stand in this truth today. We do not have to fear because Hod is our shelter, refuge + fortress and He is calling us to actively be still in Him and stand in His truth.

I love this picture that is painted time and time again especially in the old testament of God as our fortress. As humans we are so susceptible to outside influences and disturbances (especially for people pleasers and overthinkers🙋🏾‍♀️). But this picture of God being a fortress + a refuge has just been showing up over and over. A steady place of rest. Unwavering no matter the circumstances. My protection no matter what comes. And because of this I should not fear, even if the mountains fall into the heart of the sea (Psalm 46). Even if the mountains were to get up and jump into the sea, we should not fear. We have God’s perfect love and we are called to live in that and not to fear (1 John 4:7-21). (120% easier said than done). A safe place for me to rest, a safe place that covers me. (Kinda like the invisible shield over Wakanda but much more powerful). Jesus is my safe place where I I can unravel, and truly fall apart. He is my strongly fortified shelter + safe place that is not susceptible to any outside influences or disturbance. My gentle refuge + fortified unwavering fortress. A refuge doesn’t mean that pursuit, danger or difficulty won’t come but that you’ll be safe and sheltered when it does come. He is our shielded and safe condition, our protection. And in order for me to live out in fullness the perfect love of God + His refuge, fortress and shelter we have to Be still in Him and know. Being still does not mean not doing things it means not doing things in your own strength and letting go of control and giving it to God. Being still is an active thing. You are standing in the truth of God and letting Him direct your steps. Taking a step back when He leads you to and being front and center when He leads you to.
